Gerhard Wolf
Gerhard Wolf (b. 1942 in Wuppertal, Germany) is in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Campus Essen, Germany.
Wolf has published papers on Mathieu functions, orthogonal polynomials, and Heun functions. His book Mathieu Functions and Spheroidal Functions and Their Mathematical Foundations: Further Studies (with J. Meixner and F. W. Schäfke) was published by Springer-Verlag in 1980. He was also coauthor (with D. Schmidt) of the Chapter Double Confluent Heun Equation in the book Heun’s Differential Equations (A. Ronveaux, Ed.), published in 1995 by Oxford University Press.

Wolf served as a Validator for the original release and publication in May 2010 of the NIST Digital Library of Mathematical Functions and the NIST Handbook of Mathematical Functions.
